T h e D C B 1 0 7 a n d D C B 1 1 2 chargers have a h o t / c o l d delay feature.
W h e n the charger detects a battery that is hot, it automatically delays
charging until the battery has c o o l e d . W h e n t h e charger d e t e c t s a
battery that is c o l d , it automatically delays charging until the battery
has w a r m e d .
T h e red light will continue t o blink, but a yellow Indicator light will
b e illuminated during this operation. O n c e t h e battery has c o o l e d ,
t h e yellow light will t u r n off a n d t h e charger will r e s u m e t h e charging
procedure.

W E A K B A T T E R Y P A C K S : W e a k batteries will continue t o function
but should not b e e x p e c t e d t o perform as m u c h w o r k .
F A U L T Y B A T T E R Y P A C K S : This charger will not charge a faulty
battery pack. T h e charger will indicate faulty battery p a c k by refusing
t o light or by displaying p r o b l e m p a c k or charger.
N O T E : This c o u l d also m e a n a problem with a charger.

These chargers are designed t o b e wall m o u n t a b l e or t o sit upright o n
a table or w o r k surface.
If wall m o u n t i n g , locate the charger within reach of an electrical outlet.
M o u n t the charger securely using drywall s c r e w s at least 1 " (25.4 m m )
long, s c r e w e d into w o o d t o a n optimal d e p t h leaving approximately
7 / 3 2 " (5.5 m m ) of the s c r e w e x p o s e d .

1. Longest life a n d best performance c a n b e obtained if the battery
p a c k is c h a r g e d w h e n the air temperature is b e t w e e n 6 5 °F a n d
7 5 °F ( 1 8 - 2 4 "C). D O N O T c h a r g e the battery p a c k in an air
temperature b e l o w + 4 0 °F (+4.5 °C), or a b o v e + 1 0 5 °F (+40.5 °C).
This is important a n d will prevent serious d a m a g e t o the battery
pack.
2. T h e charger a n d battery p a c k m a y b e c o m e w a r m t o t o u c h while
charging. This is a normal condition, a n d d o e s not indicate a
p r o b l e m . To facilitate the cooling of the battery p a c k after use,
avoid placing t h e charger or battery p a c k in a w a r m environment
s u c h as in a metal s h e d , or an uninsulated trailer.
3. If the battery p a c k d o e s not c h a r g e properly:
a. C h e c k operation of receptacle b y plugging In a lamp or other
appliance;
b. C h e c k t o see if receptacle is c o n n e c t e d t o a light s w i t c h w h i c h
turns p o w e r off w h e n y o u turn o u t the lights;
c. M o v e charger a n d battery p a c k t o a location w h e r e t h e
surrounding air temperature is approximately 6 5 ° F - 7 5
°F

charger t o your local service center.
4 . T h e battery p a c k should b e recharged w h e n it fails t o p r o d u c e
sufficient p o w e r o n j o b s w h i c h w e r e easily d o n e previously. D O
N O T C O N T I N U E to use under these conditions. Follow t h e
charging procedure. You m a y also c h a r g e a partially u s e d p a c k
whenever y o u desire w i t h n o adverse affect o n t h e battery p a c k .
5. Foreign materials of a c o n d u c t i v e nature s u c h as, but not limited
to, grinding dust, metal chips, steel w o o l , aluminum foil, or any
buildup of metallic particles s h o u l d b e k e p t a w a y f r o m charger
cavities. A l w a y s unplug the charger f r o m the p o w e r supply w h e n
there Is n o battery p a c k In the cavity. Unplug charger before
a t t e m p t i n g to clean.
6. Do not freeze or immerse charger in w a t e r or any other liquid.
