In case of difficulty
What appears to be a malfunction
may
not always
be serious. If your unit should
not perform as
expected, consult the table below to see if the problem can be corrected before seeking help from your
dealer or service representative.
Symptom
Cause
No power when POWER
is switched ON.
Noise
Remedy
® Power cord is disconnected.
@ Noise due to car ignition system
in
vicinity.
@ Influence of electrical appliances.
@ TV is too close.
® Plug the AC
cord
into the AC
outlet
correctly.
® Set the antenna away from the street.
® Cut the power to the appliances.
@ Place the TV further away.
Distorted sound
® The provided AM loop antenna is installed
in an incorrect direction or in the wrong
place.
® Noise is introduced from other electrical
equipment. (such as fluorescent lights or
an appliance using a motor)
® Signal strength from the broadcasting sta-
tion is too weak.
® Set the antenna as far from the tuner as
possible while changing the direction to
an optimum position.
® Stop
using
the
equipment
generating
noise, Or keep it away from the tuner.
® Install the AM
outdoor antenna and con-
nect it to the tuner.
FM/AM
reception is impossible.
®@ Antenna
is not connected.
®@ Tuning band is not set correctly.
® The required station is not tuned in.
Reception
is impossible
when
a numeric
key (1~0) is pressed after presetting.
Notes:
® Frequency of the receivable station is not
preset into the numeric key (1~0).
@ The
stored
contents
have
been
erased
due to longterm power interruption.
® Connect
the antenna
to the tuner
cor-
rectly.
® Set the tuning band correctly.
® Tune
to the required
station
using
the
TUNING key.
® Tune to the frequency of a station which
can be received, and preset into any of
the numeric keys {1 ~0).
® Perform presetting operation again.
1. As this system
uses
microcomputers,
it is open to interference from external
noise, and
may sometimes
not function
Properly. in such a case, unplug the power cord once, and then plug it in again.
2. Do not use contact cleaners because it could cause a malfunction. Be specially careful against contact cleaners containing
oil, for they may deform the plastic components.
