The Time Delay Function
This unit is equipped with a time delay function,
which allows for a cooking cycle to be programmed
to begin at a specified point in the future. To use the
Time Delay function, carry out the following steps:
Press the D button on the unit's control panel
when the unit is on and a cooking time has
been selected to activate Time Delay mode.
The corresponding indicator will light up on the
unit's LED screen to show this mode has been
activated.
Note! Ensure the appropriate time and temperature
settings have been selected before activating Time
Delay mode.
Once Time Delay mode has been activated,
turn the control dial to select the desired delay
time, from 1 to 16 hours. Turn this dial clockwise
to cycle through the available time periods in
ascending order, or counter-clockwise to go
through them in reverse order. The corresponding
digits will flash on the unit's LED screen to show
each cooking time has been selected.
When the desired delay time has been selected,
press down on the control dial again to confirm
the selection. The unit will go into Standby mode
for the specified period of time, then automatically
begin to work on the previously selected settings
once it elapses.
Note! Once the settings have been confirmed,
the unit's control panel will lock, and it will not be
possible to further adjust the settings. To adjust
the specified settings or select a new cooking time
and temperature, press down on the control dial
again during the cooking process to unlock the
control panel.
The unit will now go into Standby mode for the
specified period of time, and automatically turn
itself on and begin cooking on the latest selected
settings once it elapses.
Slow cooking guide
As most food is cooked over a period of 6-9 hours,
it can be prepared in advance the evening before,
refrigerated in the removable aluminum cooking pot
placed in the slow cooker and switched on in the
morning and left to cook all day. When you arrive
home a delicious, hot meal will await you. The guide
below will help simplify the process of slow cooking,
allowing you to obtain ultimate satisfaction from your
slow cooker.

Note! These times are approximate. Times can vary
depending on the ingredients and quantities in the
recipes.
Note! Most uncooked meat and vegetable
combinations will require at least 8 hours on LOW.
Timing
Always allow sufficient time for the food to cook.
It is almost impossible to overcook in the slow
cooker, particularly when using the LOW setting.
Most recipes can be cooked on any one of the
temperature settings; however the cooking
times will vary accordingly. Each recipe will give
specific instructions, indicating the appropriate
temperature setting accompanied by the
suggested cooking times to use.
General Tips for Slow Cooking
DO NOT pre-heat the slow cooker before adding
ingredients.
For best results, the slow cooker should be filled
at least halfway.
DO NOT fill the cooking pot to more than three-
quarters full. Note: DO NOT over fill the appliance
or it will not cook as well as it should.
Spray the inside of the cooking pot with non-stick
cooking spray for easy clean up.
The removable aluminum cooking pot is
ovenproof.
DO NOT use the lid in the microwave.
Frozen foods such as vegetables and shrimp may
be used as part of a specific recipe.
If there is a loss of power while slow cooking, the
food being cooked may be unsafe to eat. If you
are unable to determine how long the power was
out, we suggest that the food inside of the slow
cooker be discarded.
Use fresh or dried herbs instead of ground; they
keep more of their flavour during long cooking
times.
Cover all food with a liquid, sauce or gravy.
Slow Cooker on High
Prepare in a separate pan and then add to the
slow cooker, completely covering the food in the
1 ½-2 hours
