NOTE OF REPLACING THE ANT001, CP001, IC001,
IC003, IC004, IC101, IC102, IC400, IC401, IC402, IC602,
IC1301, X001 AND X501 ON THE MAIN BOARD
ANT001, CP001, IC001, IC003, IC004, IC101, IC102, IC400,
IC401, IC402, IC602, IC1301, X001 and X501 on the MAIN board
cannot replace with single. When these parts are damaged, replace
the complete mounted board.
NOTE OF REPLACING THE KEY BOARD
The KEY board can not be repaired. When the KEY board is defec-
tive, replace the whole of panel front assy including the KEY board.
Block diagram, schematic diagram and printed wiring board of the
KEY board have not described on this service manual.
In addition, when the panel front assy is replaced, be sure to refer
to "NOTE OF REPLACING THE PANEL FRONT ASSY OR THE
KNOB (VOL) ASSY" on page 6.
OPERATION CHECK OF THE USB
Connect a USB device to this unit for checking the USB operation
of this unit.
Refer to the support site written in the operating instructions for the
details about the compatibility of a USB device.

Use following TEST DISC (for CD) when this unit confi rms the
operation and checks it.

FLEXIBLE FLAT CABLE FOR THE MECHANISM DECK
CONNECTION
When performing the operation check in the state that is removed
the mechanism deck from the main unit, it is necessary to use a long
fl exible fl at cable.
When performing the operation check, use following fl exible fl at
cable.

CANCELING THE DEMO MODE
You can cancel the demonstration display
which appears when the source is off and
the clock is displayed.

Press MENU, rotate the control dial to
select [GENERAL], then press it.

Rotate the control dial to select [SET
DEMO], then press it.

Rotate the control dial to select [SET
DEMO-OFF], then press it.
The setting is complete.

Press
(back) twice.
The display returns to normal reception/
play mode.

CLEANING THE CONNECTORS
Avoid touching the connectors directly. The
unit may not function properly if the
connectors between the unit and the front
panel are not clean. In order to prevent this,
detach the front panel (page 7) and clean
the connectors with a cotton swab. Do not
apply too much force. Otherwise, the
connectors may be damaged.
Note
For safety, do not remove the front panel while
driving.
METHOD FOR FORCED EJECT THE DISC AT THE POWER
SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
To forced eject the disc when the power of this unit cannot be turned
on, perform works according to the following procedure.
Forced eject procedure:
1. Refer to "3. DISASSEMBLY" on page 34, remove the mecha-
nism deck block from the main unit.
2. Connect the regulated DC power supply directly to the LOAD-
ING/EJECT MOTOR connection terminal of the board on the
bottom of the mechanism deck and input +5 V.
Note: Connect GND to the yellow wire terminal.
3. The disc is ejected.

ABOUT REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE MECHA-
NISM DECK
The mechanism deck cannot be disassembled for repair and replace-
ment. If the internal parts or board of the mechanism deck is mal-
functioning, replace the whole mechanism deck with a new one.
Also, it is possible to check the quality of the mechanism deck by
referring to "5. ELECTRICAL CHECK" on page 42.
ABOUT QUALITY JUDGEMENT METHOD OF THE MECH-
ANISM DECK
When checking the quality of the mechanism deck, refer to "5.
ELECTRICAL CHECK" on page 42.
