3. SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
Ensure that the power switch
remains turned off, and that the plug is nat inserted into
the wall
socket
until al! the connections have
been cornpleted.

4. PRELIMINARY PREPARATIONS
In order
to protect your
new
turntable from
damage
during transportation,
the platter and
other
heavy
items
have
been
packaged
sepa-
rately inside the packing carton.
Unpack each
item,
and
assembje
the
turntable
in strict
accordance to the following procedure.
Do
not plug
the turntable
into a wall socket
until you have finished assembling it.
® Unpacking
(1) Take out the platter, belt and platter sheet
on the top of the packing.
(2) Remove
the
main
turntable unit from the
carton with the packing material and then,
remove the packing material. (45 adaptor is
packed with cushion.)
(3) Remove
the four red screws
from
the bot-
tom
of the
main
turntable
unit
together
with
the red spacer. They are for protection
during transportation.

(4) Place
the
main
turntable
unit directly
in
front
of you,
pull out
the turntable
unit
gently, and
remove
the red screw and the
tonearm
fastener
with
a plus screwdriver.

Do
not
throw
away
the packing
materials.
You
wil! need
them
in case of re-transporta-
tion (when you move, for instance).

Turntable Assembly
Assemble
the
turntable
following
the proce-
dure below.
(1) Carefully
mount
the
platter onto the spin-
die,

(2) Put the belt around the pulley. (See ''Putting
on the Drive-belt" section.)
(3) Then
place the platter sheet on the platter.
(4) Plug in the power cord.
(Refer to the sec-
tion on "System Connections".)
CAUTION
The holes on the platter are used for removing
the platter. Do not insert fingers and turn
it,
since you may get injured.

Putting on the Drive-belt
(1) Pull the belt around
the inner rim of the
platter out through one of the holes in the
platter surface and hold it there with your
index
finger.
Then
fit the end of the belt
over the pulley.
(2) Make sure the beit is not twisted.

(3) Rotate the platter slowly clockwise two or
three times by hand.

Installation
It is highly recommended
that the turntable be
placed on a firm, tevel surface (such as desk or
bookshelf)
safe from external vibrations (caus-
ed by the speakers,
or nearby
footsteps). The
ideal
position
would
be a spot
as
far away
as
possible
from
the
speakers,
but also protected
from
direct
sunlight,
heaters
and
other
heat
generating appliances, dust, and high humidity
(or dampness).
Note:
This
unit
may
be
mounted
with
other system
components.
Apparatus
apart
from
system
components may be mounted on the top of this
unit
if care
is taken
to guard against gravita-
tional
imbalance,
although
especially
heavy
items
(over
15
kg) should
not
be mounted,
Faulty
mounting
will
result
in improper
func-
tioning of the loading mechanism.
