Control function operation
Main switch
The main switch controls the ignition and
electrical circuits as follows:
ON
OFF
BLOWER

Main switch
OFF:
Ignition circuit is switched off. The engine can-
not be started, but other switches will operate.
(The main switch key can be removed.)
ON:
Ignition circuit is switched on. (The main
switch key cannot be removed.)
START:
The starter motor will turn to start the engine.
(When the main switch key is released, it re-
turns automatically to "ON".)
TIP:
The engine will not start when the clip is re-

moved from the engine shut-off switch. The
starter motor will turn over without the cord
attached.
The main switch will not operate (the starter
●
motor will not turn over) if the "START"
switch or the battery switch in the battery
compartment is turned to the OFF position.

Remote control lever
WARNING
Before shifting, make sure there are no

swimmers or obstacles in the water near
you.
When operating in reverse, go slowly.

Do not open the throttle more than half.
Otherwise, the boat may become unsta-
ble, which could result in loss of control
and an accident.
Do not shift into reverse while traveling
●
at planing speeds. Loss of control, boat
swamping, or damage to the boat could
occur.
A single lever controls both throttle and shift-
ing. Moving the remote control lever forward
from the neutral position shifts into the forward
position, and then as the lever is moved far-
ther, accelerates the engine for more thrust.
Moving the lever back from the neutral posi-
tion shifts into the reverse position, and then
as the lever is moved farther, accelerates the
engine for more thrust.
