Direct exhaust mode vertical: For this venting method, hot air rising from the conventional range below is drawn in by the range hood fan motor through the vent grille and grease filters up through the right and left sides of the blower motor, then discharged vertically at rear center top of the range hood into the customer’s vent system.

    Section 3: Troubleshooting and Testing Check procedure Code Check methods for parts Check PCB control board Disconnect the power and remove the PCB control board. Check for any discoloration or broken parts, if any, replace the PCB control board. Reconnect all leads removed during testing Reconnect the power supply.

If the motor doesn’t turn, turn the fan switch to HI speed and measure the voltage between the Pin 3 and Pin 4 (black and white wires) of the 5 pin connector on the PCB board control. If 120V appear and the start capacitor and fan switch are good then replace the blower fan motor.

Rotate the switch to each position and check resistance across the terminals with a multimeter. If the contacts do not measure open or closed per the below figure then replace the switch.

    Section 4: Component Removal WARNING To prevent an electrical shock, take the following precautions: Disconnect the power. Trip circuit breaker to the OFF position, or remove fuse. Do not service when the range hood is working. Make sure all electrical connections are correct and secure. Make sure all electrical leads are properly dressed and secured away from sharp edges, high-temperature components, and moving parts.

    Section 4: Component Removal Front Panel Removal NOTE 1. Cut off power to the hood unit. 2. The vent grill cover and filter assembly needs to be removed before the front panel can be removed 1. Remove screws at the both sides of the front panel.

    Section 4: Component Removal Fan or Light Switch Assembly Removal NOTE 1. Cut off power to the hood unit. 2. The vent grill cover, filter assembly and front panel needs to be removed before the switch assembly can disassembled If replacing the switch assembly go to step 4.To Push in on the knob to release then pull replace the knob assembly unscrew and the knob off the switch.

Remove the wire terminals from the switch. Replace the switch assembly. Refer to the wiring diagram in Chapter 3 for either the light switch or fan switch when reconnecting wire terminals.
