Set the MODE
switch to USB.

Set the ATT
of the RF
vacuum
tube volt-
meter to its maximum condition.
Apply
7mV,
1500Hz
AF
signal to the MIC
terminal
and
check
that the power of more
than 80 watts is available.
The indication of
the RF vacuum
tube voltmeter is referred to
as B.
Ascertain
that
the difference
between
two
indications 'A' and "B" exceeds 40dB.

a dummy
to the ANT terminal and

vacuum
tube voltmeter with a
dummy
of 8 ohms and the oscilloscope to the
PHONES terminal.
Set
the
STAND-BY
switch
and
the MODE
switch to SEND and CW, respectively.
Obtain

the maximum
power at 14.2MHz
by adjust-
ing each knob.
Ascertain
that high frequency
output
is re-
duced to zero when
the key is inserted into
the key Jack.
Check
that
the same
power
is available
as
before when
the key is pushed.
After this,
adjust the side tone variabie resistor (VR2)
mounted on the unit X49-0008-00 so that the
power of 5mW (0.2V/82) is available as side
tone AF output.
Check
that
the
semi-break-in
keying
is pos-
sible when
the key is pushed after setting the
STAND-BY switch to VOX.
