Custom Keys
20
The new Custom Keys let you choose the functions
you want at your fingertips.
The two keys on the left-hand side of the camera
body can be easily set to operate any of a wide
range of functions. When you buy the camcorder,
they should normally be set to FADE - (CUSTOM
KEY 1) (see p. 23) and BLC - (CUSTOM KEY 2)
(see p. 28).
Choose the functions you are likely to use most
often and set the keys to operate those. It is easy
to change the function of a custom key if
necessary.

1. Set the program selector to a recording
program or PLAY.
• The function of a Custom Key in playback
mode (i.e.: When the program selector is set
to PLAY) is independent of its function in
camera mode (i.e.: when the program selector
is set to a recording program).
2. Open the camera or playback menu and
point the arrow at "CUSTOM KEY 1" or
"CUSTOM KEY 2."
• The keys are numbered on the side of the
camera.
3. Select the setting you want for that key,
and close the menu.
• While the menu is open and the arrow pointed
to a Custom Key, the Custom Key can also be
set to one of the functions marked at the top of
the next column with an asterisk, by pressing
the key on the camera body or the wireless
controller which ordinarily activates that
function.
