  • Page 5 This series offers many new features that we are confident of satisfying your requirements. These features include the following. 1. Maximum speed is 100,000 rpm(803,000 x g).(CP100NX) 2. When using RLM rotors, the rotor life time is automatically managed by the rotor life management (RLM) feature of the ultracentrifuge, so keeping a rotor log book is not necessary.

    2-2-3 Safety Devices 2-2-3 Safety Devices (1) Protection of rotor chamber Should the rotor spinning at high speed fails (or comes off the drive shaft), the safety of the operator is ensured by the thick protective steel ring enclosing the bowl (Fig. 2-2-2). (2) Imbalance detector If during operation the vibration of the rotor becomes excessive due to serious imbalance or improper bucket setting, the imbalance detector detects the situation and decelerates the rotor immediately.

    RLM adapters are termed RLM rotors (automatically managed rotors.) (See Fig. 2-2-3). WARNING: Use a RLM rotor manufactured by Hitachi Koki with only Hitachi ultracentrifuges. Failure to do so can cause the centrifuge to become damaged.

The RLM rotors can be used on both types, but rotors having optical adapters cannot be used on the ultracentrifuge version designed for rotors having optical disks and vice versa.
