2. Double-click on the filename to launch the control within the default Web browser.
3. The typical file for browsers to invoke the Stand-alone ISC Console is ISC.HTM.
NOTE
Netscape Navigator requires a plug-in for viewing ActiveX applications. One that is
known to work can be downloaded from Esker's Web site, http://www.esker.com. To
find the plug-in, search for the files NPESKp32.DLL and NPESKp32.JAR . You can
download the plug-in and install it by following the instructions from the Web site.
Launching the ISC Stand-alone
Console with Microsoft Management Console
To launch the Stand-alone ISC Console within Microsoft Management Console (MMC), do the following:

These example steps are based on using MMC in Windows 2000 or on using version 1.1
or greater of MMC.
1. From the Start menu in Windows select Run.
2. Enter "mmc.exe" to start MMC.
3. If the control for the Stand-alone ISC Console is not present in the navigation pane of the MMC,
perform the following 10 steps to add the control to the MMC. If the control is present, skip to step
four.
a. Within MMC, choose Console and then Add/Remove Snap in.
b. Click Add.
c. Select ActiveX Control from the list of available stand-alone snap-ins.
d. Click Add to start the wizard.
e. Click Next.
f. Scroll down to reveal Intel Server Control Stand-alone Control and highlight it within the list.
g. Click Next.
h. Rename the control if you desire and click Finish.
i. Click Close.
j. Click OK.
4. Click on the control in the navigation pane of the MMC to launch the Stand-alone ISC Console within
MMC.
The stand-alone ISC Console will be started as the active application within MMC. You can also perform the
following to launch the Stand-alone ISC Console within MMC:
1. Locate the file using Windows Explorer, specifying the path: %ISCPATH%\BIN\ISC.MSC.
2. Double-click on the filename to launch the control within MMC.
NOTE
If you have not installed MMC on your console system, you can obtain it from Microsoft
at http://www.microsoft.com/management/mmc/

Stand-alone ISC Console Controls

The Stand-alone ISC Console is a lightweight management console that provides basic server management
functions. It allows you to run Platform Instrumentation Control (PIC), Direct Platform Control (DPC),
Client System Setup Utility (IA-32–based servers), and the Server Management Configuration (SM Config)
Utility (Itanium-based servers). The Stand-alone ISC Console can run by itself, within a web browser or
