    I/O cycles available on a specific disk array or across several disk arrays The HP StorageWorks P9000 Disk Array Plug-In for Oracle Enterprise Manager software is referred to as the plug-in in this document.

    2 Prerequisites This section lists the prerequisites that are required before deploying the plug-in. Plug-in host configuration prerequisites The plug-in host requires the Oracle Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface (EMCLI) and HP RAID Manager library. EMCLI installation and configuration The EMCLI must be installed on the plug-in host. Installation and user documentation is available from Oracle at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/documentation/index.html On the plug-in host, download the EMCLI client kit from the Grid Control installation.

    Use uname S to name or rename a node. HP–UX patches To use the plug-in, the PHCO_36309 patch must be installed. The plug-in support is listed in “Plug-in description” (page 5) (HP–UX nodes not listed are ignored). Monitored LUN OS device permission The plug-in will not be able to monitor storage devices on operating systems if the any device special files are not given the correct Oracle ownership and permission.

    Obtaining the plug-in Browse to: http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/us/en/solutions/ storage-oracle-plug-ins-xp-oracle-enterprise-manager.html. Under P9000 and XP Disk Array Plug-In for Oracle Enterprise Manager Integration guide, click Download the Plug-in. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the installer. Installing the plug-in From the Enterprise Manager console, click Setup.

    After the plug-in has been deployed to a host, you can add new target instances. To add target instances: Select HP StorageWorks P9000 Disk Array as the target type from the Add list in the Monitored Targets section of the management agent home page where the plug-in has been deployed.

    Click OK. A new target is added and appears in the agent’s monitored targets list. Removing the plug-in To remove the plug-in, you must undeploy it. To undeploy the plug-in: Select HP StorageWorks P9000 Disk Array plug-in in management plug-in list and then click the Undeploy icon. Follow the steps provided by Enterprise Manager.

    4 Monitoring P9000 and XP disk arrays When the plug-in is deployed, the disk array appears in the agent's monitored target list and clicking the link takes you to the plug-in home page. The status of the plug-in is shown in the top left area of the screen.

    5 Reports This chapter describes the reports provided by HP disk array plug-in. Reports can be filtered by fields as indicated in “Report Filters” (page 12). Descriptions of the filters are shown in “Report filter descriptions” (page 13). To view the filter results, click the Go button that appears at the top of each table.

    LUN configuration report This report provides LUN configuration information on LUNs configured (presented) to one or more hosts managed by the Oracle Enterprise Manager.     ASM disk group to storage mapping report This report provides the mapping between the Automatic Storage Management (ASM) disk group and storage devices. OS file system mount point to storage device mapping report This reports provides the mapping between the host OS file system mount points and storage devices (LUN) as well as storage utilization information.

    Enter the Array Serial No. and LUN IDs using the Monitoring Configuration option in the plug-in home page (see “HP P9000 StorageWorks plug-in home page” (page 11)). Only valid input LUNs belonging to user input arrays are displayed in a performance statistics graph.

    This report provides the performance statistics of the array controller ports through which LUNs are configured to the hosts managed by the Oracle Enterprise Manager. The user can input the Array Serial No. using the Monitoring Configuration option in the plug-in home page (see “HP P9000 StorageWorks plug-in home page” (page 11)).
