The following recipes are installed with MacBroidery™ Embroidery Lettering Software.
Select and apply the desired recipe in the preferences. Then begin a new design page to utilize the
settings of the recipe.
Baby Blankets
Baby blankets are most often made of flannel, knit, fleece and other soft-pile fabrics. To embroider on
these, a topping of water soluble stabilizer is used to keep the pile from showing through the
embroidery. If extremely thick consider hooping a sticky tear-away instead of hooping the baby blanket.

Canvas
Canvas is a very stable fabric and is easy to embroider. Canvas, because it is usually thick can be difficult
to hoop. Hooping a sticky type stabilizer will prevent shifting of the fabric during embroidery and
eliminate the need to hoop the canvas.

Hooping a sticky stabilizer and then adhering the cap is the most common way of stabilizing caps for embroidery. Watch the embroidery constantly to be sure the cap remains flat as it sews.

These are generally easy to embroider and don't require a lot of stabilizer because the fabric itself is fairly stable. Beware that many denims now have a little bit of Lycra added for stretch.

To embroider on these a topping of water soluble stabilizer is used to keep the pile from showing through the embroidery. If extremely thick consider hooping a sticky tear-away instead of hooping the fleece.

Open designs with no underlay and low stitch counts will provide the best results. Because it is very likely that hooping leather will leave marks it is advisable to hoop the stabilizer and then adhere the leather on top.

  • Page 7 Pacesetter MacBroidery™ Embroidery Lettering Software – Recipes Pullover Wool-blend pullovers may vary in their fabric type and thickness. Some pullover fabrics can be easily hooped and others should be adhered to the top of a hooped stabilizer with a cut away placed under the hoop.
  • Page 8 Pacesetter MacBroidery™ Embroidery Lettering Software – Recipes Shirt Cuff Shirt Cuffs come in all sizes and can be a challenge to embroider on a home embroidery machine. Cuffs cannot be hooped so hoop an adhesive stabilizer and adhere the cuff in place. A Basting stitch will also help to keep it from shifting or popping off during embroidery.

Hoop the stabilizer then adhere the fabric onto the stabilizer. Place a piece of cut away under the hoop A water soluble topping may be needed on top to keep the stitches from sinking into the fabric.

Some sticky stabilizers can pull the terry looping when removed so using a spray adhesive is suggested.
