Problem (HP-UX systems only)
During the HP-UX boot sequence, yellow
blocks are not replaced by boot status mes-
sages
Blank colored or textured background
Unable to start HP CDE or HP VUE warn-
ing message
The HP CDE or HP VUE login window is
not displayed, but you do see a console lo-
gin prompt

Solution
Find a login prompt on either the on–board
graphics device or the RS–232 port.
Alternatively, follow the procedure in Chap-
ter 3, Section 1, to select this graphics
device as the boot console and boot the
machine manually. This causes the login
prompt to be displayed on this device.
Login and check that the X Windows, HP
CDE, and HP VUE configurations are cor-
rect.
The system is configured for two graphics
heads and this is not the primary head.
Log in through the primary graphics head
and check that the X Windows, HP CDE, or
HP VUE configurations are correct.
Use <CR> to get a login prompt.
Log in and check that the X Windows, HP
CDE, and HP VUE configurations are cor-
rect.
