Zooming
in More
Closely
on Subjects
(Digitat
Zoom)
The focal length of the lens can be increased
by approx.
1.4x or approx.
2.3x.
This enables
a faster shutter
speed
and less chance
of camera
shake than
the zoom (including
digital zoom) used by itself at the same zoom factor.
The
images
may appear
coarse,
however,
depending
on the combination
of
recording
pixel (p. 76) and digital teleoconverter
settings
used.
Choose[Digital Zoom].
Press the
MENU
button.
Press the _j_ buttons
to choose
the
tab.
Press the ,_v
buttons
or turn the _
dia!
to choose
[Digita! Zoom].
Accept
the setting.
magnification.

[
Pressing the
MENU
button will restore the
shooting screen.
The view will be enlarged
and the zoom
factor wil! appear
on the screen.
To return to standard
digital
zoom, choose
[Digital
Zoom] and the [Standard]
option.
Using this function at a recording pixel setting of
L or M1
w_i cause image
deterioration
(the zoom factor will appear in blue).
