    The EPSON printer driver disk that comes with your printer includes the printer driver software and a printer utility. A printer driver is software that allows your computer to control the printer. You need to install the printer driver so your software applications can take full advantage of the printer’s capabilities.

    Your printer can print on a wide variety of paper types, including single sheets, continuous paper, multi-part forms, labels, envelopes, postcards, and roll paper.     Adjusting the Paper Thickness Lever You need to set the paper thickness lever to match the thickness of your paper. When you print on ordinary single-sheet or continuous paper, set the lever to the “0” position on the scale as shown below.

    You can load one sheet of paper at a time into the paper guide at the front of the printer, or you can load a stack of paper in the optional cut-sheet feeder. (See Chapter 5 for more information on the optional cut-sheet feeder.)

    LQ-670 The asterisk ( ) is a substitute for the last digit, which varies by country. Contact your local EPSON dealer for the part number in your country. You can install the high-capacity cut-sheet feeder by itself, or you can assemble and install a double-bin cut-sheet feeder by combining the high-capacity and second-bin feeders.

    Make sure the printer is turned off. Close the sprocket covers if they are open, and lock the sprocket units by pushing down the lock levers if necessary.
  • Page 96 While holding down the buttons on both sides, fit the notches on each side of the feeder over the mounting posts on the printer. Lower the cut-sheet feeder until it rests on the printer. Remove the paper guide from the front of the printer. Then slide the sheet guide for the cut-sheet feeder all the way onto the mounting pegs.

The printer is ready to accept data from your computer and print. After printing a sheet, the printer ejects the printed sheet onto the sheet guide and the Paper Out and Pause lights come on.

    Installing the roll paper holder To install the roll paper holder, follow the steps below. Turn off the printer and make sure the paper release lever is at the single-sheet position.
