I don't have a cable box. How can I get the TV sound
through the TH‐G31/41 speakers?
Connect the Television's audio output to the TH‐G31/41's
audio input. Then select the audio (refer to the user's
manual page NN)
My cable box is connected to the television using HDMI
cable. How can view DVD playback from TH‐G31/41?
Connect the HDMI cable from the cable box to the TH‐
G31/41. Then connect the HDMI cable from TH‐G31/41 to
the television.
I have a game console and TH‐G31/41. How can I
connect the game audio and the TV audio to TH‐
G31/41?
The TH‐G31/41 has three audio inputs: Optical in, Aux in
(RCA) and Audio in (mini jack). Connect game to one of
the un used inputs. External audio switcher can also be
used to switch between TV audio and game audio
I have connected the television using HDMI cable. When
I playback DVD, why there is no video on the television?
TH‐G31/41 may be set to output 1080i.and your TV might
be set to accept 480P. It is necessary to match the video
resolution settings of both TH‐G31/41 and television
Why the rear speakers have no sound when playing
back DVD?
Check your speaker connections (user's manual page NN.)
If your DVD has no surround audio, press the surround
button on the remote as many times to get sound as
required. Refer to setting the surround mode (user's
manual page NN)
Can I get sound from my rear speakers when playing
Audio CD?
Yes. Press SURROUND button on the remote repeatedly
to change surround mode.

Why does the display shows BYPASS when trying to
select surround while playing back a pre‐recorded DVD?
'BYPASS' is displayed on TH‐G31/41 when attempting to
change surround mode while playing back a pre‐recorded
audio that has Dolby encoded audio. The TH‐G31/41
automatically selected the encoded audio format
I have no cable box. How can I get surround audio via
the TH‐G31/41?
Connect the Antenna cable to the digital TV's RF input.
Connect the TV's optical audio output to the TH‐G31/41's
optical input. Select AUX OPT input on TH‐G31/41
I have cable box. How do I get TV audio via TH‐G31/41?
Connect the cable box's optical audio to the TH‐G31/41's
optical input and select the AUX OPT input
The DVD controls do not operate but the eject and close
works. How do I playback a DVD?
Press the FUNCTION button on the remote to activate
DVD. Then press play on the remote or front panel
How can I get the sound from my TH‐G31/41 to match
the video being shown on my TV.
If your TV is directly connected to your TH‐G31/41, you
will need to change the input on your TH‐G31/41 to
corresponding input that your TV is connected to.
The volume when I watch a DVD is different than the
volume when watching my TV, why?
Some cable/satellite boxes and TV's have a setting for
fixed or variable audio output. A variable output setting
will affect the volume through your THG31/41. Check the
user manual for your cable/satellite boxes or TV and look
for audio output setting.
