NOTE:Yourlog splitteris shippedwith motoroil in the engine.
However, y ou MUSTcheckthe oil levelbeforeoperating.Be careful
notto overfill.
NOTE:All referencesin this manualto the left or right sideof the log
splitterare from theoperatingpositiononly.See OperatorZonein the
Operationsectionof the SafetyInstructions.
REMOVING
THE LOG SPLITTER
FROM THE
CARTON
1.
Pry thetop, sides and endsoff of the crate.
2.
Setthe panelsasideto avoidtire puncturesor personalinjury.
3.
Removeand discard the plasticbag that coversthe log splitter.
4.
Removeany looseparts includedwith with the log splitter(i.e.,
toungueassembly,operator'smanual,etc.)
5.
Cut and removethe strapswhich securethe partsto the bottom
of the crate.Unboltany remainingpartswhich may be boltedto
the bottomof the crate.
Useextremecautionunpackingthis machine.Somecomponentsare
very heavyand will requireadditionalpeopleor mechanical h andling
equipment.

Attaching
the Jack
Stand
Thejackstandisshippedinthe transportposition.
1.
Removethe springclip and clevispin and pivotthejackstand
towardsthe groundto theoperatingposition.
2.
Securethe jackstand inpositionwith the clevispin and spring
clip. See Figure1.

1.
With the log splitterstill standingupright,removethe two hex
bolts and hex nuts fromthe tank bracket.See Figure2.

Align the holesin the tonguewith the holesin the tank bracket
and securewith the hardwarejust removed.See Figure2.
NOTE:The high pressurehosemustbe abovethe tongueassembly.

TO BEAM
The log splitteris shippedwith the beamin the verticalposition.
1.
Pullout the verticalbeamlock, rotateit backand pivot the beam
to the horizontalpositionuntil it locks. See Figure3.
