Symptom Possible Causes Corrective Action
Jack will not lift load • Release valve not tightly closed • Ensure release valve is tightly closed
• Overloaded - too much weight on jack • Reduce weight on jack
Jack bleeds off • Release valve not tightly closed • Ensure release valve is tightly closed
(starts to lower) after lift • Hydraulic unit malfunction • Replace power unit assembly
Jack will not lower after • Oil reservoir overfilled • Drain fluid to proper level
unloading • Linkages binding • Clean and lubricate moving parts
Poor lift performance . Fluid level low • Ensure proper fluid level
. Air trapped in system • With ram fully retracted, open
release valve and remove oil filler
screw, pump handle several times to
expel trapped air. Re-install oil filler
screw.
Will not lift to full • Fluid level tow ° Ensure proper fluid level
