Flash On
i The camera always fires the flash. If the
ilight is behind your subject, you can use
ithis setting to increase the light on the
front of your subject. (This is called

iThe camera fires the flash to illuminate
iobjects in the foreground. It then
i continues to expose as if the flash had not
ifired to gather the Background. This
i setting only works when taking pictures of
istill objects. You may also want to use a
tripod for Better results.
NOTE With each of the flash settings, you can also set Red
eye Reduction to On in the Capture menu. When Red=eye
Reduction is On, you will see the Red eye Reduction @
icon displayed with the icon for the flash setting in the
status screen and in Live Viewer. To turn R_eye
Reduction
On, see Red°eye reduction on page 43.
