Important Instructions for Moving the Answerer:
Tomove the answerer to a different location in the house,follow these instructions:
1. Disconnectthe phone line.
2. Goto the electricaloutlet and unplug the power adaptor.
3. Movethe unit and phone lineto the desiredlocation.
/4.Plug in the power adaptor into an electricaloutlet.
5. Thedisplayshowsthat the messageshave not been erased.
6. Connectthe phone line.
7. Resetthe time/date settings or wait for the next callto set them automatically.

Recording the Greeting
Beforeusingyour new answerer,you should recorda greeting (theannouncement
callers hear when your answering systemanswersa call).If you don't record a
greeting,callers hear a default greeting which says,"Weare unavailable to take
your call. Pleaseleave a messageand thank you for calling."
Whenrecordingthe greetingyou should be about 6 inchesfrom the unit. Eliminateas
much background noiseas possible.
1. Prepareyour greeting.
SompleGreeting: "Hi,this is (useyour homehere).I con't onswerthe phone right
now, sopteoseleoveyour nome, number,ond o brief messogeofter the tone, ond I'll
get bock to you. Thanksfor coiling."
2. Holddown the ANNOUNCE button.The unit announces "Recordyour
announcement after the tone," and displaysANNOUNCE RECORD. After the tone,
you have 30 secondsto recordyour greeting.
3. Release the ANNOUNCE button when you finish.
• To review the greeting, pressand releasethe ANNOUNCE button. Theunit plays
back your greeting automatically.
• Toreturn to the answerer'sdefault greetingafter you've recordedone,press the
ANNOUNCE button and releaseit whenyou hear the tone, or pressand hold the
DELETE button whenthe greeting is playing.
