Caution: Please read "Battery Use & Safety" on page 57.
Tip: To save battery life, see "Battery tips" on page 26.
Note: GSM and UMTS-based global services work only
with a SIM card supplied by Verizon Wireless®. When
you set your smartphone to use a GSM 900/1800 or
UMTS 2100 network (see "Automatically switch
network mode (outside the U.S.)" on page 52), you may
be prompted to enter a subsidy code. To get this code,
contact Verizon Wireless.
Set up & go
The first time you turn on your smartphone, a setup
wizard guides you through signing in to your Google™
Gmail™ account. If you don't have one, don't worry, the
wizard will help you create one.
After you log in to Gmail, you can set up social
networking, or you can do it later.
Note: You don't need to have a Google Gmail account to
use your phone. Feel free to skip this step if you don't
have a Gmail account.
Note: This phone supports apps and services that use a
lot of data, so make sure your data plan meets your
needs. Contact Verizon Wireless for details.
