TECHNICAL INFORMATION 2.4.1 PDP STRUCTURE AND CHARACTERISTIC This unit uses the flat type panel PDP (Plasma Display Panel), instead of the conventional CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), as a display unit. 2.4.1.1 PIXEL (CELL) ARRAY PDP is constructed by sealing the xenon, which emits neon and ultraviolet rays for discharging purpose, in between the electrodes lay on the front glass substrate and rear glass substrate.

Burn-in A characteristic of Plasma Display Panels (PDPs) is that displaying the same image for a long time causes a part of the image to stay on the screen (this is called phosphor burn-in).
