Problem
Timer does not
run (continued).
Timer loses time.
Check
— Voltage across the two C
terminals.
— Pins in program dial. If pins are
not completely seated in
program dial, jamming with
index wheel can occur.
— Power may be interrupted.
— High limit control. If timer
powered through system
transformer, power to timer
and equipment may be off
on safety.
— Filter may be clogged. Safety
limit on equipment can cut off
power to system.
Action
Remove thermostat from the wallplate
or subbase and measure the voltage.
Refer to Voltage at Timer Terminals
table for cause and reaction.
Push down on pins to make sure they
are completely seated in program dial.
Make sure power is on. Reset timer.
Wire separate transformer to power
timer, or install backup batteries as
shown in Fig. 2.
Replace filter and reset timer.
