After you perform steps 1 through 4 in before you install the software on
Windows 98/ page 5, the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears if your
computer is running Windows 98 or Me.

Tip! The ends of the USB cable are not identical. One end will
fit into your computer or hub and the other end will only fit
into the HP Digital Copier.
The New Hardware Wizard appears. Depending on your operating
system, proceed with either install on Windows 98/Me on page 6,
install on Windows 2000 on page 8, or install on Windows XP on
page 10.
Insert the CD that came with your copier/printer into your computer's
CD-ROM drive.
Click Next in the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box.
