4 Using your computer Using the optical drive Your computer may come with a SuperMulti burner (with optional Blu-ray reader capabilities). This drive is located on the front panel of your computer. The BD and HD drive allows you to play CD-ROMs, CD-I discs, and video CDs, DVD-RAM/-RW, DVD-ROMs, DVD+R/-R discs, and optionally play BD discs as well. -

Taking care of your optical discs • Keep your disc in its case when not in use to avoid scratches or other damage. 5 Upgrading your computer Removing and installing a hard disk drive The computer may include an optional easy-swap hard disk drive. One standard 3.5-inch Serial ATA hard drive may be mounted in a carrier that connects to a SATA interface on the disk cage backplane. Note: In certain configurations the carrier already contains a hard disk drive. -

Press the HDD carrier latch, then pull the lever and slide the carrier from the chassis. Place the HDD carrier on a clean surface.
