    V. Disassembly & Assembly 1. Precaution Please read the precautions as follows to prevent any damages to the LCD Monitor and also select the appropriate tools for disassembly and re-assembly. Make sure all power connection is removed. Be sure that the LCD Monitor is in power off status.

    2. Suggest Tools Here are some tools that can be used for the LCD monitor’s service and repair. Philips-head Screwdriver Use a Philips-head screwdriver to fasten/remove the K- or B-typed screws P/N:N/A Gloves To protect LCD Panel and your hand P/N: (L) 16-003300131 (M) 16-003300130 C/D Disassembly Tool Use C/D Disassembly Tool to open cosmetic cover and avoid scratch.

    Information in this section is to perform the disassembly procedure of the LCD monitor. Depending on the failures, replace the defective parts accordingly. Asus MB17SE LCD Monitor consists of various subsystems. This section describes the procedures for LCD monitor disassembly. In addition, the detailed disassembly procedures of individual subsystem will be provided for your service needs.

    3.1 Stand Subsystem 1. Unlock four clips to dismount BASE.

    3.2 Board Subsystem Back Cover 1. Release 4 screws on the STAND. 2. Pull down to dismount STAND. 3. Remove 4 screws on the HINGE.
  • Page 15 4. Remove 3 screws on BACK COVER. 5. Lift BACK COVER from under part to dismount.
  • Page 16 Key Board 1. Release 6 screws on KEY BOARD. 2. Lay the KEY BOARD down over the Panel Frame.
  • Page 17 3. Unplug SPEAKER CABLES and KEY BOARD CABLE, and then take away KEY BOARD. 4. Remove 2 pieces of TAPE. 5. Disconnect KEY BOARD with MAIN BOARD.
  • Page 18 6. Disconnect POWER BOARD CABLE. Main Board 1. Release 2 screws on MAIN BOARD SHIELDING. 2. Pull down MAIN SHIELDING slightly to dismount.
  • Page 19 3. Remove 1 TAPE here. 4. Open LVDS CABLE COVER and then disconnect LVDS CABLE. 5. Use space screwdriver to remove 2 screws on D-SUB PORT.
  • Page 20 6. Release 5 screws on MAIN BOARD. 7. Remove MAIN BOARD. Power Board 1. Remove 2 screws on POWER BOARD SHIELDING.
  • Page 21 2. Pull down to remove POWER BOARD SHIELDING. 3. Unplug LAMP CABLES. 4. Release 4 screws on POWER BOARD.

    3.3 Panel Subsystem 1. Remove 4 screws on PANEL FRAME. 2. Dismount LCD PANEL from BEZEL. 3. Remove 4 screws on both sides of PANEL FRAME to dismount.

    3.4 Bezel Subsystem 1. Separate KEY PAD away from BEZEL. 2. Remove 8 screws on SPEAKERS to dismount them.

    Information in this section is to perform the assembly procedure of the LCD monitor. Asus MB17SE LCD monitor consists of various subsystems. This section describes the procedures for LCD monitor assembly. In addition, the detailed assembly procedures of individual modules will be provided for your service needs.

    4.1 Bezel Subsystem 1. Install SPEAKERS on BEZEL, and Tighten 8 screws on them. 2. Assemble KEY PAD on BEZEL.

    4.2 Panel Subsystem 1. Plug LVDS CABLE. 2. Paste 1 piece of TAPE on LVDS CABLE. 3. Assemble PANEL FRAME with LCD PANEL, and then tighten 4 screws on both sides.
  • Page 29 4. Locate LCD in BEZEL and press down to fix it. 5. Secure 4 screws on PANEL FRAME.

    4.3 Board Subsystem Power Board 1. Mount POWER BOARD. 2. Tighten 2 screws on AC-IN PORT. 3. Secure 4 screws on POWER BOARD.
  • Page 31 4. Plug 4 LAMP CABLES. 5. Push up to mount POWER BOARD SHIELDING. 6. Tighten 2 screws on POWER BOARD SHIELDING.
  • Page 32 Main Board 1. Install MAIN BOARD. 2. Tighten 5 screws on MAIN BOARD. 3. Use space screwdriver to secure 2 screws on D-SUB PORT.
  • Page 33 4. Plug LVDS CABLE, and then cover LVDS CABLE COVER 5. Paste 1 piece of TAPE. 6. Push up to assemble MAIN BOARD SHIELDING. 7. Tighten 2 screws on MAIN BOARD SHIELDING.
  • Page 34 Key Board 1. Connect POWER BOARD CABLE with both POWER BOARD and MAIN BOARD. 2. Connect KEY BOARD CABLE with MAIN BOARD. 3. Paste 2 Pieces of TAPE.
  • Page 35 4. Plug SPEAKER CABLES and KEY BOARD CABLE with KEY BOARD. 5. Assemble KEY BOARD on BEZEL, and secure 6 screws on it.
  • Page 36 Back Cover 1. Assemble BACK COVER, and press down along sides to lock latches. 2. Tighten 3 screws on BACK COVER. 3. Assemble HINGE, and tighten 4 screws on it.
