5. Preparing for operation

The steps described in this section must be taken without fail in order to confirm whether the piping work
has been completed correctly.

5-1 Supplying the water

(1) Fill the tank unit with water.
(2) Drain off some water to remove air from the heat pump unit.
(3) Check that no water is leaking from the pipe connections.
(4) Open the combination faucet by turning it to the hot water side, and check that water comes out.
• Be absolutely sure to do this before operating the power switch.
• If no water comes out or if it does not come out properly, check the connections for leaks and the
pipes for clogging with dirt or foreign matter.

5-2 Insulation work

• Do this work after inspecting the pipe connections for leaks.
• The hot water supply and cold water supply pipes as well as the pipes between the units must be
insulated without fail.
• Provide the appropriate water-proofing for the insulated parts of the pipes such as the buried or outdoor
pipes which are exposed to the rain and dew.
Note
Pipes which are to be buried in the ground must be insulated properly without fail.
5-3 Test run
Upon completion of the preparations for operation described above, be absolutely sure to conduct a test run.
Please refer to the construction manual of the tank unit for the method of the test run.

6. Post-installation inspections, and instructions for the customer

Request to Installer
• Upon completion of the installation work, be absolutely sure to conduct checks again based on the
"Post-installation inspections (checklist)".
• Hand over installation instructions to the customer and ask that they be kept in a safe place.
