Troubleshooting

What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service center.
• For operations with the external components, refer also to the instructions supplied with the adapters used for the
connections (as well as the instructions supplied with the external components).
Symptoms
• No sound comes out of the center speaker.
• No sound comes out of the rear speakers, and
subwoofer.
• The monitor is not clear and legible.
• "SD Loading Error" appears on the monitor.
• "No Signal" appears.
• The unit does not work at all.
• AS (Auto Storing) does not work.
• Static noise while listening to the radio.
• Disc can be neither recognized nor played .
• Recordable/Rewritable discs cannot be
played back.
• Tracks on the Recordable/Rewritable discs
cannot be skipped.
• Playback does not start.
• Playback of DVD Video does not start.
• The playback picture is not clear and legible.
• Sound and pictures are sometimes
interrupted or distorted.
Remedies/Causes
• Center speaker is not activated. (☞ page 43)
• Center speaker is used only for surround playback. No
sound comes out for stereo playback.
Rear speakers and subwoofer are not activated. (☞ page
43)
Sunshine from the windshield may cause this symptom.
Adjust the monitor brightness. (☞page 11)
The SD card is not inserted fully. Fully insert it into the slot
to close the door.
• Change the source.
• Check the cords and connections.
• Signal input is too weak.
Reset the unit. (☞ page 3)
Store stations manually. (☞page 13)
Connect the antenna firmly.
Change the disc.
• Insert a finalized disc.
• Finalize the discs with the component which you used
for recording.
• Insert the disc correctly again.
• The format of files is not supported by the unit.
Playback is restricted. Release the restriction. (☞ page 25)
Adjust the monitor brightness. (☞page 11)
• Stop playback while driving on rough roads.
• Change the disc.
