    RF switch to OFF. If your TV has no AV input terminals, set the channel on the TV to correspond to the RF switch on the back of the VCR. Even if your TV has AV input terminals, you must connect it...

    If you perform Dual Quick Set successfully, D.S.T. will be set to “AUTO”. At the D.S.T. adjustment time ( your VCR's power must be off and your cable box must be set to the host PBS channel in your area for the D.S.T.

    MENU TIME SCAN 5∞ INITIAL SETTINGS (cont.) This VCR offers you the choice to view on-screen messages in English, Spanish or French (not including messages superimposed on the TV picture). Select the desired language using this procedure. The default setting is "ENGLISH".

Audio will be played back at normal speed during any of the TimeScan modes ( TimeScan allows you to view a program in search mode while listening to the audio.

    To resume normal playback, press PLAY. When using the VCR's TIME SCAN SHUTTLE ring, the playback speed may not change depending on how far it is turned. When using the VCR's TIME SCAN SHUTTLE ring, the playback speed will change up to X7 and -X7 search speeds. Turning the TIME SCAN SHUTTLE ring further will not increase the search speed.

    During recording, press OSD at any time to see the elapsed time. All indications corresponding to the current status of the VCR are displayed for 5 seconds. The counter display remains on the screen indicating the elapsed time. Press OSD again to remove the display.

    Hi-Fi Audio Recording Level Control Your VCR allows manual adjustment of the Hi-Fi audio recording level. Although the preset audio recording level is satisfactory for normal recording, if the sound you are going to record is too loud or too low, adjust the audio recording level while referring to the VCR's audio level meters.
