    Preface The network camera WV-SW559/WV-SW558 is designed to operate using a PC on a network (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX), and can be installed under eaves (sheltered outdoor). By connecting to a network (LAN) or the Internet, images and audio from the camera can be moni- tored on a PC via a network.

    Preparations When installing the camera on a wall or a ceiling, there are two methods as specified below. • Using a two-gang junction box • Use the supplied mount bracket IMPORTANT: • Procure 4 screws (M4) to secure the camera attachment (accessory) or the mount bracket (accessory) to a wall or a ceiling according to the material of the installation area. Do not use wood screws and nails.

    Note: • For wall mounting: The camera attachment (accessory) shall be mounted with "gTOP" facing upward. • For ceiling mounting: The camera attachment (accessory) shall be mounted with "hFRONT" facing in the direction of the camera front (the side where the Panasonic logo is).
  • Page 20 Using the mount bracket (accessory) Note: • When the camera is mounted on the wall or ceiling with a hole for cable running, or the camera is mounted using open wiring, the mount bracket is used. IMPORTANT: • If open wiring is conducted, be sure to use conduits and run the cables inside the tubes to protect the cables from direct sunlight.

    • For wall mounting: The camera's upwards direction (the side opposite to where the Panasonic log is) is fixed. Select which direction to make the upward direction for the mount bracket. • For ceiling mounting: Select which direction to face the front (the side where the Panasonic logo is) of the camera.

    Insert/remove a SD memory card (WV-SW559 Only) IMPORTANT: • Before inserting the SD memory card, turn off the power of the camera first. • When inserting a SD memory card, make sure the direction. • Before removing the SD memory card, select "Not use" for "SD memory card" on the [SD memory card] tab of the setup menu first. Turn off the power after "Not use" selection, and then unload the SD memory card.

    Connection Caution: • FOR UL LISTED MODEL(S), ONLY CONNECT 12 V DC CLASS 2 POWER SUPPLY. Turn off a circuit breaker before making a connection. Before starting the connection, prepare the required devices and cables. Note: • When using the mount bracket (accessory), it is possible to connect the cables after mounting the camera onto the mount bracket. • Refer to page 20 when connecting the conduit.   • Page 28: Waterproof Treatment For The Cable Joint Sections

    Waterproof treatment for the cable joint sections Adequate waterproof treatment is required for the cables when installing the camera with cables exposed or installing it under the eaves. The camera body is waterproof, but the cable ends are not waterproof. Be sure to use the supplied waterproof tape at the points where the cables are connected to apply waterproof treatment in the following procedure.

    <Using the mount bracket> q Attach the camera onto the camera attachment (accessory) while aligning the "OPEN" mark of the camera with the projection of the camera attachment (accessory).     Adjustment Adjust the camera angle. When determining the camera angle, repeat fine adjustments by gradually moving the panning table, tilting table, and azimuth adjustment ring. Horizontal position (Panning) Loosen the panning lock screw, rotate the panning table to adjust the pan direction. (Adjustable range: 340 °) Panning is possible within the range of 180 °...

  • Page 38 IMPORTANT: • Do not move the focus ring. • Defocus may be caused by the reinstalled enclosure. In this case, perform the auto focus func- tion from the setup menu. • After performing basic adjustments, make sure to press the auto focus (AF) button once to per- form detailed adjustments. Note: • If the zoom lock knob is fully turned in the "W" direction, the periphery may become dark. In such a case, turn the zoom lock knob in the "T" direction for readjustment. • If the zoom lock knob is slightly tightened before the zoom is adjusted, the knob will become stable, making fine adjustments easier to perform. • When shooting in the following place or the following subjects, focus may not be adjusted automatically.
  • Page 39 Attach the enclosure to the camera. Attach the cutout part of the main unit to the grooved part of the enclosure.     Insert the provided CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of your PC to start up the CD launcher. Then the License Agreement will be displayed. • If the launcher window is not displayed, double click the "CDLauncher.exe" file on the CD-ROM. • Read the Agreement and choose "I accept the term in the license agreement", and click [OK]. Then the launcher window will be displayed. Using the supplied CD-ROM, the following actions can be performed. q The Panasonic IP setting software can be installed on the PC. → Refer to "Installing Panasonic IP setting software". Note: • To uninstall the Panasonic IP setting software delete the shortcut icon from where you specified it to be installed (the default is on the desktop) during installation and the [EasyIPConfig] folder from the folder you specified during Panasonic IP setting software installation.

    Installing the manuals On the CD launcher window, click the [Install] button next to [Manual] to display the Manual installa- tion window. Confirm the following settings before starting the installation. q Select which manuals to install. The camera models that the manuals support are displayed in w "Model List". w The camera models that are supported by the manuals selected in q are displayed here. e Select where to create the manuals shortcut icon when the manuals are installed. r Specify which folder on the PC to install the manuals to. t Click the [Install] button to start the installation. Note: • To uninstall the manuals delete the shortcut icon from where you specified it to be installed (the default is on the desktop) during installation and the [Manual] folder from the folder you specified during the manuals installation. Installing the Viewer software The Viewer software (Network Camera View4S) must be installed on the PC in order to display camera images.     Configure the network settings Configure the network settings of the camera using the Panasonic IP setting software It is possible to perform the network settings of the camera using the IP setup software on the pro- vided CD-ROM. When using multiple cameras, it is necessary to configure the network settings of each camera independently. If the Panasonic IP setting software does not work, configure the network settings of the camera and the PC individually on the "Network" page of the setup menu. Refer to the Operating Instructions (included in the CD-ROM) for further information. IMPORTANT: • When using Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows Vista, the "Windows Security Alert"...
