New fabrics
are coming
on the market
all the time.
Remember
that soft fabrics
may
need
to
be
stabilized
a
little.
This
is
especially
true
when
buttonholing,
monogramming,
or design sewing
as the stitches
are so close together.
A backing
of
tissue
paper
or interfacting
may assist you
in your
sewing.
The paper may be torn
away
and
the
interfacing
cut
away
after
sewing.
Check
your
fabric
by making
samples
of the
designs,
monograms,
or buttonholes
on a scrap
of fabric
before
sewing
on your
garment.
