Introduction to CSTA MUX
CSTA is a communication protocol used by CTI applications. KX-NS1000 and KX-NCP/KX-TDE series PBXs
support only one CSTA connection at a time. CSTA MUX is software that allows two or more simultaneous
CSTA connections with your PBX, which allows two or more CTI applications to be used at the same time.
For example, you can connect your PBX to CA Server, and at the same time connect to another CTI Application.
The CSTA MUX program is installed on a computer in your PBX's network.
CA Client
Note
Some types of CTI applications (such as serverless installations of CA Client) and non-CTI applications
(such as CA Call Accounting) do not require a CSTA connection to function, and therefore do not require
CSTA MUX to run.
Using CSTA MUX
Once CSTA MUX is installed and running on your computer, an icon will appear on the computer's task tray.
Hovering your mouse over the icon will display a status message for CSTA MUX. The icon will also turn red if
there is an error, or if CSTA MUX is not in service or is not functioning properly.
You can double-click the icon for information about CSTA MUX. Right-clicking the icon brings up the options
menu, where you can configure program settings, get information about the multiplexer's status, or enable,
disable, or terminate the program.
