Section 4 - Configuration
This section allows you to add ShareCenter to a workgroup or a domain if your network is configured to use Microsoft's
Active Directory Service
The Active Directory Settings allows you to set the necessary credentials in
order to configure the settings needed to add the ShareCenter to an Active
Directory.
In order to complete this, you will need the Active Directory Username, and
the Password for the an account that has permission to add computers to
the Active Directory. You will also need the name of the Workgroup, Realm
Name (also known as the Domain Name) and the AD Server Name (the
name of the server which is hosting the Active Directory Service).
If your network is configured in an Active Directory make sure the following
conditions are true:
1. Ensure that the Time and Date is synchronized between the
ShareCenter and the Windows Active Directory server. The
ShareCenter and Active Directory server will only tolerate a maximum
time difference of 5 minutes.
2. Ensure you can get the IP address of the AD Server from the DNS
server. The DNS1 and DNS2 settings are the same as the LAN Setup.
Please make sure this is working properly.
Click Save Settings to accept the changes or Don't Save Settings to cancel
changes.
