Monitor
The Monitor switch is used in conjunction with the Tape Selector to obtain the
various tape monitor and playback modes. See the explanation under TAPE
SELECTOR.
Tape B Jacks
A tape deck can be connected to the pre-amplifier by means of the two front
panel jacks which will accept a standard ~ inch stereo plug. When a tape deck is
connected tothe front play jack, the Tape
B
playterminalson the backofthe pre-
amplifier are disabled.
Volume
The Volume varies the volumeof bath channels equallyand simultaneouslyfrom
-50 db to 0 db. Clockwise rotation will increase the volume.
Balance
The Balance control is used for balancing the volume of the right and left
channels. At its center position, the volume of bath channels is equal. Clockwise
rotation decreases the sound level of the left channel and counter-clockwise
rotation decreases the sound level of the right channel.
Select
By rotating the Select switch, the various program sources can be selected:
AUX - Operation of a program source connect to the Aux inputs.
TUNER - Radio reception with a tuner connected to the Tuner inputs.
PHONO 1 - Operation of a turntable connected to the Phono 1 inputs.
PHONO 2 - Operation of a turntable connected to the Phono 2 inputs.

OPERA TION
Before operating the pre-amplifier, check to make gure that all connections have
been made and that power is supplied to all of the equipment. Turn the Volume
control fully counter-clockwise and turn on the Master Power switch. Adjust the
control as follows:

Turn on the pre-amplifier by touching the Power switch.
Activate the appropriate Output switch.
Turn the tone controls to the Flat position and make gure the Tone Defeat is
off.

Place the Mode Selector in the Stereo position and the Tape Selector in the
Source position. Make gure the Source Monitor switch is off.
5.
Turn the Balance control to its center position.
6.
Loudness, Mute and bath Filter switches should be off.
Record Player
1.
Turn the Select control to the appropriate Phono position (Phono 1 or Phono
2).
2.
Place a record on the turntable and operate it according to its instructions.
3.
Adjust the Volume, Bass, Treble and other controls for the desired listening
level and tone quality.
It is quite possible that the volume level of a turntable connected to this pre-
amplifier will not be the same as the volume level of the other components. This
condition can be corrected by properly adjusting the Phono Level controls.
Proceed as follows:
1.
Play a monophonic record on one of the turntables.
2.
Select either a monophonic FM broadcast or an AM radio station on the
tuner.
