systems, or advanced Local Area Network (LAN) functionality, the Courier Voice processing line is
sure to deliver the solution that's right for your company.
The Courier Standard model provides exceptional value with its Linux operating system and its
Auto Attendant and Voice Messaging functionality for smaller telephone system configurations.
The Courier model is available in 2- and 4-port base units. As a standard feature of the Courier, a
Network Interface Card is built-in, which can be easily connected to your network or to an
individual office PC. This standard feature provides access to the Courier's programming user
interface, and can be administered from the comfort of your own desktop! Display telephone
integration, trunk mapping, and call record features are standard functions of the Courier 2- and
4-port base units.
Courier Lite offers the next level of performance with Microsoft's Windows NT Operating System
and enhanced features. Courier Lite is available as a four (4)-port model only. Display telephone
integration, trunk mapping, and call record are the standard functions of the Courier 4-Port Lite
unit. For advanced integration with your LAN to provide desktop message management, the Lite
model can be upgraded as an option with MailQuest functionality.
The Courier Plus IFM card was designed to provide the most advanced call processing
functionality, in addition to providing the maximum port capacity of the Courier line. The Courier
Plus models are based on Microsoft's Windows NT Operating System, and come in 4-, 8-, 12-, 16-
or 24-port models for the DBS 576. A 4-port software upgrade kit, and an 8-port hardware upgrade
kit (daughterboard) are also available to upgrade some base models.
Each Courier Plus base model comes equipped with MailQuest software built-in to the application.
By purchasing the desired number of MailQuest seats as an option, you can utilize MailQuest to
deliver desktop message management.

System Technology

The DBS 576 is a completely digital system. Information is
exchanged between the major system components using Pulse
Code Modulation (PCM). The conversation exchange between
digital telephones is also digital, converting the digital information to
analog just before it reaches your handset or speaker.
Stored Program Control (SPC) is accomplished via 16-bit and 32-bit
processors. This technology controls the powerful system features
of the DBS 576. Each processor's customized memory (program
settings) is backed up by an on-board, 6-year lithium battery.
The system provides maximum protection from outside power
surges, with built-in triple surge protection for CO outside line
connectors.

Power Requirements

The system must be connected to an input power source of 117V AC (+/-10%), 60 Hz. Each cabinet's
power supply automatically generates 5V DC and 24V DC necessary to power the various printed
circuit boards for station and peripheral equipment. Optional backup batteries are available, and are
designed to safely fit into the cabinet. The power supply contains a charger that maintains a full
