Charge after each use until the green battery status LED
(13) lights.
Note: We recommend that this unit is re-charged every 2
months irrespective of use.
To check the battery charge status at any time, turn the unit
on by pressing the on/off button (3). The unit will beep once
and the red power LED (11) and the battery status LED (13)
will light.
The battery status LED (13) displays the level of charge:
If the battery status LED (13) lights red charge the unit.
If the battery status LED (13) lights green the unit is fully
charged.
Charging the unit with the mains charger (fig. A)
Make sure that the LED area light is turned off while the unit
is being charged.
Turn the unit on by pressing the on/off button (3). The unit
will beep once and the red power LED (11) and the battery
status LED (13) will light.
Connect the mains charging adaptor (9) into the 12 Vdc
charging socket (7) on the top of the unit.
Insert the mains charging adaptor (9) into a mains power
socket.
Press the recharge unit button (5). The unit will beep once
and the battery status LED (13) will flash, indicating that the
unit is charging.
Warning! The unit will beep continuously if no charging lead is
connected.
Charge until the green battery status LED (13) lights
continuously.
When charging is complete, disconnect the mains charging
adaptor (9) and store in a safe place.
Charging the unit with the 12 Vdc vehicle adaptor (fig. A &
B)
Note: The unit cannot be recharged while the 12 Vdc
accessory outlet (2) is in use or while the unit is being used
to boost/start a vehicle.
Turn the unit on by pressing the on/off button (3). The unit
will beep once and the red power LED (11) and the battery
status LED (13) will light.
Remove the 12 Vdc vehicle adaptor (10) from the storage
compartment (1) and plug it into the vehicle's 12 Vdc
accessory outlet.
Press the recharge unit button (5). The unit will beep once
and the battery status LED (13) will flash, indicating that the
unit is charging.
Charge until the green battery status LED (13) lights
continuously.
When charging is complete, disconnect the 12 Vdc vehicle
adaptor (10) and return it to the storage compartment (1).
Standby mode (fig. A)
When the unit is in standby mode (not connected to a vehicle
and not charging, but with the power on), the battery status
LED (13) will light green to indicate it is ready for use. If the
battery status LED (13) lights red, the unit needs to be
charged.
If the unit is left in standby mode for more than 3 minutes the
unit will automatically shut down. This is to prolong battery
life.
Press the main on/off button (3) to re-activate the unit.
Using the battery booster (fig. A)
Warning! Make sure the unit is disconnected from all charging
power sources before beginning the battery boosting
procedure.
Warning! This power system is to be used only on vehicles with
dc battery systems.
Warning! Vehicles that have on-board computerized systems
may be damaged if the vehicle battery is boosted. Before
battery boosting this type of vehicle, read the vehicle owner's
manual to confirm that external-starting assistance is advised.
Warning! Excessive engine cranking can damage the vehicle's
starter motor. If the engine fails to start after the recommended
number of attempts (refer to the vehicle's owner manual),
discontinue the battery boost procedure and look for other
problems that need to be corrected.
Warning! You MUST turn off the offending items that
discharged your battery, i.e. lights/radio etc. before you start this
procedure.
Once offending items are turned off, allow your battery to
recover for 2-3 minutes.
Turn the unit on by pressing the on/off button (3). The unit
will beep once and the red power LED (11) and the battery
status LED (13) will light to indicate that it is functioning.
Remove the 12 Vdc vehicle charging adaptor (10) from the
storage compartment (1) and plug it into the vehicle's
12 Vdc accessory outlet.
Press the vehicle boost button (4). The unit will beep once
and the green vehicle boost LED (4) will flash, indicating
that the vehicle battery is being charged/boosted.
Note: When connecting to a vehicle's 12 Vdc accessory
outlet, it may be necessary to turn on the vehicles ignition to
power the accessory outlet, the unit will beep continuously if
the 12Vdc accessory outlet is not accepting charge.
When the green vehicle boost LED (4) lights continuously
and the unit beeps, (after approximately 20 minutes), the
vehicle battery has been boosted.
Remove the 12 Vdc vehicle charging adaptor (10) from the
the vehicle's 12 Vdc accessory outlet.
Warning! You must remove the 12Vdc vehicle adaptor from the
12Vdc accessory outlet on the vehicle before starting the
