cleaning any part of the cooktop.
How to Remove Protective Shipping Film
Carefully grasp a corner of the protective
shipping film with your fingers and slowly peel
it from the appliance surface. Do not use any
sharp items to remove the film. Removeall of
the film before using the appliance for the first
time.

Turn all controls OFF before removing the
burner parts.
The burner grates, caps and burner heads can
be lifted off, making them easy to clean.
A CAUTION: Do not operate the burner
without all burner parts in place.

Whenone burner isturned to LITE,all the
burnersspark.Do not attempt to disassemble
or cleanaround any burnerwhile another
burner ison.An electricshockmay result,
which couldcauseyou to knockover hot
cookware.
After cleaning, make sure the
notch in the burner head
is positioned toward the
electrode. Rotate the burner
head around the burner base
until it is level and securely
seated.
NOTE:Before removing the
burner caps and heads,
remember their sizeand location.
Replacethem in the same
location after cleaning.
The burner heads and burner
basesare labeled A, B and C to
aid reassembly.

Burner Caps
Liftoffwhen cool. To clean the burner caps, wash
in hot,soapy water and rinsewith cleanwater.You
may scour with a plasticscouringpad to remove
burned-onfood particles.
Burner Heads
Theslits in the burner headsof your cooktopmust
be kept cleanat att timesfor an even,unhampered
flame.
You should cleanthe surface burnersroutinely,
especiallyafter bad spillovers, w hich could clog
these openings.Lift off when cool.
Toclean the burner heads, wash in hot, soapy
water and rinsewith cleanwater.
To remove burned-on food, soak the burner
heads in a solution of mild liquid detergent and
hot water for 20-]0 minutes. Formore stubborn
stains,usea toothbrush. Usea small sewing
needleor paper clip to remove any clogs in the
slits.
Electrodes
Thissmallmetal rod producesthe sparkand must
be kept cleanand dry to properlyignitethe gas.
To clean the electrodes,use a dry paper towel or
scrub pad.
After Cleaning
Beforeputting the burnercaps and headsback,
shakeout excess water and then dry them
thoroughly bysetting in a warm ovenfor 30
minutes.Checkto make surethe electrodesremain
seateddown in burner head.
Replacement
The burner headsand burner basesare labeledA,
B and Cto aid reassembly.
Replace the burner headson the basesmatching
the letters.Replace the caps on the heads.Make
surethat the caps and headsare replacedin the
correct location.Thereisone small(A), t wo medium
(B)and one large (C)headand cap. If the caps or
headsare not replacedin the correct locations,
burnersmay not igniteor perform properly.
