5. Messages (Menu 1)

If you have subscribed to a messaging service through your wireless provider, you can
send and receive TXT MESSAGES to compatible phones that also subscribe to a
compatible message service. You may also be able to send and receive picture messages
and e-mail messages.
Note: When sending messages, your device may display
indication that the message has been sent by your device to the message center
number programmed into your device. This is not an indication that the
message has been received at the intended destination. For more details, about
messaging services, check with your service provider.
■ Write a TXT MESSAGE
You can use the Messages menu to create and send TXT MESSAGES to another mobile
phone in your network, to another mobile phone in another network, or to an e-mail
recipient. You can also save a draft of your message in the Outbox folder for later use.
Create and send a TXT MESSAGE
Important: Use this method when sending a message to recipients in the same
wireless network. If the recipient has a different service provider, you may need
to send the message as an e-mail.
Create message
allows you to create and send messages. Change case with #, add a
space with 0 (zero), and view special characters with *. To send TXT MESSAGES, the
service must be activated by the service provider.
At the start screen, select
and select one of the following:
Add number
— Enter the recipient's phone number or press
from your contacts list, and press OK..
Add e-mail
— Enter the recipient's e-mail address, or press
from your contacts list, and press OK..
Edit
message—Compose a message using the keypad and select
