IP Address Setting

There are 2 ways to set the IP address of VN-E4.
(A) Assigning IP address to VN-E4 from the DHCP server
(B) Assigning a static IP address to VN-E4 upon turning off the DHCP client function of VN-E4

(A) Assigning IP Address from the DHCP Server

The DHCP client function is set to ON in the factory settings of VN-E4. By assigning an IP address from the DHCP server,
VN-E4 can be connected to the network without manual setting of IP address. Information on the IP address assigned to VN-E4
will be required when viewing VN-E4. Consult your DHCP server administrator on the IP address assigned by the DHCP server
to VN-E4. The search tool in attached CD-ROM is available to know IP address of VN-E4. Refer readme file of the tool for
detailed information.

(B) Assigning a Static IP Address

Set up the PC for setting the IP address.
[Minimum PC specifications for setting]
OS: Windows XP Pro (SP2) or Windows XP Home (SP2)
Web browser: Internet Explorer V6.0

(1) System configuration for setting the IP address

To set a static IP address for VN-E4, connect VN-E4 and PC to a switching hub using straight LAN cables of Category 5 or
above. (Do not connect the DHCP server to the switching hub.)
Supply power to VN-E4 using the AC adaptor.
The DHCP client function is set to ON in the factory settings of VN-E4. In LAN without DHCP server, VN-E4 starts with following
IP address after about 2 minutes from power on.
IP address
: 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask
: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway
: 192.168.0.254
