3.2 Letting Your System Recognize
the Drive
For your system to recognize the new CD-ROM drive, you
need an appropriate driver to act as the system's "eye
opener."
Because your new CD-ROM is a plug-and-play
device, in normal cases either Windows 95 or OS/2 Warp
should have no problem recognizing it with the OS's
built-in standard IDE CD-ROM driver.
and Windows 3.1, however, need to install a supplied
device driver.
Even so, the installation procedure
is easy and takes less than three minutes.
3.2.1 If You Are a DOS or Windows 3.1
User
Perform the following steps:
1. Boot your computer.
2. Insert the Installation diskette into a 3.5"
floppy drive.
3. Type
into which drive you inserted the diskette.
