Setting up the answering machine
Setting the time control
You can set up the answering machine so that it is automatically activated and deacti-
vated depending on the time (i. e. at a particular time of day) and responds with differ-
ent announcements at different times.
You can define (for the 24-hour day) up to four time sections with different settings for
the answering machine. You must specify a start time for each time section. The start
time of the 2nd time section is the end time of the 1st time section etc.. The start time
of the 1st time section is the end time of the last defined time section. For each section,
you can set whether the answering machine should be activated/deactivated and which
announcement or announce only mode should be used.
You specify the time control for workdays (Monday to Friday). At the weekend (Saturday
and/or Sunday), either the time control for workdays can be used, one of the announce-
ments can be activated for the entire day or the answering machine can be deactivated
for the entire day.
Example:
The answering machine in your office is to be deactivated during normal office hours
(8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The answering machine is to be activated using announce-
ment 1 during the lunch hour only (12:00 to 1:00 p.m.). After office hours (5:00 p.m.
to 8:00 a.m.) the answering machine is to use announce only. The following time sec-
tions must be defined:
1. Start time 08:00, AM off
2. Start time 12:00, announcement 1
3. Start time 13:00, AM off
4. Start time 17:00, announce only
