5.6 Web server
Note
Access rights during the first commissioning
A login is not necessary during first commissioning when opening the web server. You have
full access rights to all functions of the web server like the "Administrator".
However, the following access rights apply when a drive has been commissioned:
Functions of the web server
Start page / password input
Diagnostic pages (version overview, DO state, alarms,
diagnostic buffer)
Resetting the fault memory
Uploading trace files
Creating/expanding/removing parameter lists
Reading parameters
Writing and saving parameters
Updating the configuration
Updating the firmware
Loading user-defined pages to the drive
Only those lists may be edited for which the user has the appropriate access right. A default setting

applies during creation of the lists depending on the user.
These rights can be individually assigned for a parameter list. A default setting applies here depending

on the user.
Access rights can be set individually for each user and parameter list in the parameter lists via the web
server configuration.
Password assignment
By default, password protection is regulated as follows:
● "SINAMICS" user: No password protection
We recommend that you assign a password. The password must consist of 8 characters
or more.
● "Administrator" user: Password protection. A password is not pre-set.
A password with at least 8 characters must be assigned. If a password has not been
assigned, the following alarm appears when attempting to log in: "A09000: Web server
security: Administrator password not set".
After the first commissioning, the passwords for the two users can only be defined or changed
via the STARTER configuration. If reset to factory settings, the passwords are reverted to their
initial settings.
To change a password, you must know the existing password.
When the corresponding website is accessed, you will be prompted once to enter the
password.
