To re move the new sm ell, switch the hotplates on to full
power for five minutes, one by one, without pla cing any
p ans on top. D o not switch more than one hotplate on at
a tim e. At this point it is norm al to notic e smok e and
odours, but these will disa p p e ar over tim e.
Caution! D o not op erate the hotplates without pla cing
p ans on top, exc e pt during this initial he ating phase.
Turn the knob anticlockwise to the required setting.
Fig. 1 or 2 depending on the model.
S etting 1: low power.
S etting 6 or 9 (d e p ending on the mod el): full power
Turn the knob clockwise to the off setting.
Tip It is re comm end e d to start cooking on full power and
then to use interm e diate power levels after a few
minutes.
The ele ctric hotplates c an b e switche d off slightly b efore
the end of the cooking tim e. The residual he at will ena ble
you to continue cooking for several minutes, thus saving
energy.
