• Use 1 GB, 2 GB or 4 GB memory modules in any combination up to a maximum of 24 GB.
• Install memory modules into the blue color memory slots first.
Note: Only DDR3 ECC UDIMMs can be used.
To install a memory module:
1. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 11.
Note: For this procedure, it helps to lay the computer on its side.
2. Locate the memory slots. See "Identifying parts on the system board" on page 8.
3. Open the retaining clips as shown.

4. Position the new memory module over the memory slot. Make sure the notch
aligns correctly with the slot key
