If you have a problem with your cordless telephonelanswering
system,
try the following
suggestions
before calling for service.
ANSWERING
SYSTEM SECTION:
If your outgoing message is not
recorded:
-
Press and hold the OGM REC
button for at least 1 second until a
beep sounds. (The OGM REC
button is located inside the
cassette compartment lid.)

The message tape may not be
inserted.
If the unit is set to the auto answer
mode but no messages
have been
recorded:
-
The tape may need rewinding.
Make sure the full side of the tape
is on the right.
-
The message tape may be
damaged or may not have been
inserted.
-
Your outgoing message may not
have been recorded properly.
-
The CPC/ANS.ONLY
switch may
be set to ANS.ONLY.
If the unit disconnects
before the
caller has finished leaving a mes-
sage:
-
The caller may have kept silent for
too long.
-
The caller's voice may have been
extremely low.
If the telephone
rings but the unit
does not
answer the phone:
-
Set the unit to auto answer mode.
(See page 27.)
If you hear beeps but no messages
during message playback:
-
A caller probably hung up without
leaving a message. The beeps you
hear represent each time your
outgoing message was played, not
each time someone spoke.
If you try to retrieve your messages
from another telephone
but nothing
happens:
-
You may not have entered the
correct remote access code
number.
-
You may not have entered the
correct remote access code, or
entered it incorrectly.
-
You may not be using Touch-Tone
telephone, or the telephone does
not produce continuous tones while
the dialing buttons are pressed.
-
You may have entered your remote
access code before the beep that
follows your outgoing message.
If the unit does not function after it
has been exposed to a static
electric shock:
-
Disconnect the AC adaptor, then
reconnect it.
-
Record your outgoing message
again.

Reset the security code.
