    Safety Warning: To use any features in this device, other than the alarm clock, the device must be switched on. Do not switch the device on when wireless device use may cause interference or danger. Remember to make back-up copies or keep a written record of all important information stored in your device.

    Your device To update the device software, you need the Nokia Software Updater application and a compatible PC with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista operating system, broadband internet access, and a compatible data cable to connect your device to the PC.

    Your device Memory card Use only compatible microSD and microSDHC cards approved by Nokia for use with this device. Nokia uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brands may not be fully compatible with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.

    Your device cause the device to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed and may reduce the battery life.     To use the headphones with a remote control unit, connect the unit to the Nokia AV Connector in the device, then connect the headphones to the unit.

    Make calls those approved by Nokia for use with this device, to the Nokia AV Connector, pay special attention to volume levels. Remove the SIM card 1. Remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device.

    Write text To make a call from Contacts, select Menu > Contacts. Scroll to the desired name. Or, tap the search field to enter the first letters of the name, and scroll to the name. To call the contact, press the call key. If you have saved several numbers for a contact, select the desired number from the list, and press the call key.

    Write text ● Input mode (11) - Opens a pop-up view, in which you can select available input methods. When you tap an item, the current input method view closes and the selected one opens. Handwriting recognition You can use the stylus as a pen to write text. Write legible, upright characters on the text input area, and leave a small horizontal gap between each character.

    2. To write the desired word, tap the keys 2–9. Tap each key only once for one letter. For example, to write "Nokia" when the English dictionary is selected, tap 6 for N, 6 for o, 5 for k, 4 for i, and 2 for a.

    Messaging Writing language: This setting defines which language-specific characters, in your handwriting, are recognised and how your on-screen keyboard is laid out. Writing speed: Adjust the speed at which handwriting is recognised. Guiding line: Show or hide the guiding line in the writing area to help you write in straight line and help the device recognise your writing better.

    Personalise your device Before you can create a multimedia message or write an e-mail, you must have the correct connection settings in place. The wireless network may limit the size of MMS messages. If the inserted picture exceeds this limit the device may make it smaller so that it can be sent by MMS. Check the size limit of e-mail messages with your service provider.
