Erasing My Content

To erase all downloads:
1. From the Security menu (See "Accessing the Security Menu" on page 32), select
Erase Content and press MENU/OK.
2. If you're sure you want to erase all of your downloaded data, press OK (left softkey), and
then select Yes.
If you have assigned downloaded data, the function returns to its default setting.

Resetting Your Phone

Resetting the phone restores all the factory defaults, including the ringer types and display
settings. The Contacts, Call History, Calendar, and Messaging are not affected.
To reset your phone:
1. From the Security menu (See "Accessing the Security Menu" on page 32), select
Reset Phone, and press MENU/OK.
2. If you're sure you want to reset your phone, select Yes and press MENU/OK.

Resetting and Locking Your Phone Through SMS

When your phone is lost or stolen, you can erase your important personal information (such as
Contacts entries, call history, and messages) and lock your phone by sending a
specially-formatted SMS message to your phone.
Send a message in the following format from your computer:
\\RESET **<Passcode>**RESET
<Passcode> – your defined passcode.
The default passcode is your phone's 11-digit ESN (Electronic Serial Number),
which is written on the package or on the phone itself.
To activate this feature, the following presetting is required:
1. Press MENU/OK to access the main menu.
2. Select Settings and press MENU/OK.
3. Select Security and press MENU/OK.
4. Enter your lock code.
5. Select Others and press MENU/OK.
6. Select Found Me and press MENU/OK.
7. Select Reset/Lock and press MENU/OK.
8. Select Enable and press MENU/OK.
To unlock a phone that has been locked through SMS, bring the phone to Customer center.
Changing the Passcode
To change the passcode for the specially-formatted SMS messages:
1. Follow steps 1-6 above.
2. Select Chg Passcode and press MENU/OK.
3. Enter a new passcode (11 digits).
4. Reenter the new passcode.
