11.13 Multigrain (
The multigrain program Multigrain 49 is intended for
cooking brown rice, wild rice and various types of grains.
Special features of these programs
-
Default setting of pressure level: High 54.
-
What volume of liquid you add depends on the variety
of grain. See the information on the packaging.
-
For the cooking time, use half of the time specified on
the packaging.
-
Please note the maximum filling volume of 1/2 for the
total volume of grain and liquid.
NOTE: For cooking wild rice and brown rice, use the mul-
tigrain program Multigrain 49.

12. Cleaning and storage

Clean the device prior to its first use!
DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to
moisture!
The base unit 17, mains power cable and mains
plug 16 must not be immersed in water or other liq-
uids.
DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
Pull the mains plug 16 out of the wall socket before
you clean the device.
DANGER! Risk of injury from burning!
Wait for the device to cool down before cleaning.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Do not clean using sharp objects or abrasive cleaning
agents.
• Clean the device after each use and remove all food
residues.

12.1 Disassembling the device

1.
Pull the mains plug 16 out of the wall socket and al-
low the device to cool.
2.
Pull the mains power cable 16 out of the port 18 in
the base unit 17.
3.
Remove the lid 5 from the device.
4.
Figure A: pull strongly to remove the sealing
ring 25 from the underside of the lid 5.
5.
Remove the pot 7 from the base unit 17.
6.
Pull the condensed water tank 11 out of the hold-
er 22.
12.2 Cleaning accessories in the
dishwasher
The following accessories can be cleaned in the dishwash-
er:

the pot 7

the sealing ring 25

the condensed water tank 11

the steamer insert 13
-
the measuring beaker 14

the rice spoon 12

the soup spoon 15
12.3 Cleaning the housing and
power cable
The base unit 17, the lid 5 and the mains power cable 16
are cleaned as follows:
1.
Wipe these parts clean using a damp cloth (with a lit-
tle detergent if necessary).
2.
Dry all parts completely before you use the device
again.
3.
Pay particular attention to the recesses on the exter-
nal rim of the base unit 17 and inside the lid 5.

12.4 Checking and cleaning valves

The lid contains two valves, which must always be clean
and move freely. They must be open and unblocked. Al-
ways check the valves during cleaning!
Pressure indicator 23
• Check the underside of the pressure indicator 27 on
the underside of the lid 5. It must move freely, and
must not be soiled (e.g. with food residues).
NOTE: if the pressure indicator 23 ever becomes soiled
with stubborn dirt, clean it under running water with a
small brush.
