1.1 Overview

The HW Connection Management (CM) interfaces allow applications to
communicate with HW's WWAN device. The functions exposed through the HW
CM API are described in this chapter.
Technology support for each function is identified at the beginning of each section.
The HW CM API is designed to work with various operators, depending on the
operator-specific requirements.

1.2 Call Blocking and Prohibited Blocked Function Calls

All API calls are blocking in nature, as each call results in synchronous
communication with the device. Currently, the minimum timeout is 1 sec and the
maximum timeout is 5 min. When blocked, waiting for a function to complete, the
functions below must not be called.



1.3 Common Types

The following common types are utilized by the HW CM.

1.3.1 Return Codes

Each HW CM API function returns a common return code. The return code is a
ULONG, and the values are shown as in Table 1-1 .
